CCM Leadership Experience during the Fall Semester

This school year I have the honor of being on the CCM leadership team. Specifically, I’m in charge of the Liturgy. Every Thursday afternoon I meet with a campus minister (shoutout Ashleigh) and we go over things for the upcoming week. My main responsibilities are scheduling the weekly altar servers and lectors, writing the weekly pre-Mass announcements, and making sure we have people to bring up the gifts each Sunday. The pre-Mass announcements are actually a new thing we started this year at my suggestion, so it’s been neat to see an idea of mine come to fruition. We rotate which leader gives the announcements each week so that everyone can become familiar with the different leaders.

I’ve been on two retreats this semester. In August we had a shared leadership retreat with George Mason’s CCM out in West Virginia. Then in October we had our Fall Retreat in Winchester. Both were lovely getaway opportunities for fellowship, Mass, and Adoration.

As this semester comes to a close, I find myself looking ahead to next semester. I’ll be busiest during Lent and Holy Week; I’m super excited to welcome new Church members at the Easter Vigil! Thus far, Fr. and the campus ministers have been a great support system, and it’s been wonderful working with them. I’ve really enjoyed my time as a leader, and I’ll update you next year on how the spring semester goes!
