Return of the Bangs
Dun, dun dun. I know what some of you are thinking, “Now Lexi, why would you bring back the bangs? You didn’t rock them in elementary school.” To which I respond: at least now they’re not side bangs. I cannot lie–I hate the feeling of having hair on my forehead. I now have a habit of pushing my hair up and off my face. Also, since having the bangs, I’ve developed some sort of eczema on my forehead?? Which I’ve never had before?? Alas, bangs are a necessary evil of the grow out process. Would they look better if I actually styled them? Yes. Will I do so? No. I’m…

Thrift Shopping
Remember when I said I could never choregraph a dance? Well, it turns out that the combined manic energy of my roommate and me is enough to come up with this piece: Thank for to my dancers for making this experience so wonderful! Please enjoy the other Small Show dances I was in:

6 Month Update
Hello adoring fans. Originally, I was going to title this post, “It’s Pixie Cut Season,” but some days I feel closer to Harry Styles from early One Direction than I do to Emma Watson from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. That is, if I could ever get my hair to have that much volume. What Has the Grow-Out Been Like? Bedhead and hat hair are both very real and very devastating. The worst times are when it’s sticking straight up, which is honestly most days. It takes some styling in the morning, but I love how it’s still out of my way; because I don’t feel it much in…

St. Thérèse Relics
The relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux were on a national tour in honor of the 100th anniversary of her canonization and the Jubilee Year of Hope. On Saturday, November 22, I went up to D.C. with my family and a friend to see the relics on the last day of their visit at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Public Transportation My family took the Amtrak from Richmond, and my friend and I joined them from the Fredericksburg stop. This was only my second time being on a train since I was six-years-old, and it was interesting to ride public transit again. Once we got to…

PAC PAC PAC PAC
I’m going to subject my loyal fans to another PAC (Performing Arts Company) blog post. Small Show This semester I was asked to be in two Small Show pieces! One was a spy-themed dance to the theme song of the Disney Channel show K.C. Undercover. The second was a hip-hop number to a mash-up of several Eminem songs. Because Small Show is halfway through the semester (early October) we had to learn the choreography much quicker than my Big Show pieces. It was a little overwhelming toward the end, but I’m so happy I was included in Small Show this semester. Big Show I was in two Big Show pieces…

CCM Leadership Experience during the Fall Semester
This school year I have the honor of being on the CCM leadership team. Specifically, I’m in charge of the Liturgy. Every Thursday afternoon I meet with a campus minister (shoutout Ashleigh) and we go over things for the upcoming week. My main responsibilities are scheduling the weekly altar servers and lectors, writing the weekly pre-Mass announcements, and making sure we have people to bring up the gifts each Sunday. The pre-Mass announcements are actually a new thing we started this year at my suggestion, so it’s been neat to see an idea of mine come to fruition. We rotate which leader gives the announcements each week so that everyone…

Starting the Grow Out Journey
Yes, you read the title correctly. After 6 months of rocking a buzz cut, I decided to grow it out. Why? It was around June that I started wanting to grow my hair. It had already gotten pretty long just because I hadn’t found the time to re-shave it, and I found that I was liking it. I also have plans to study abroad in fall 2026, and I want a more typical hair style for that. According to the Internet, it takes about a year to grow out a buzz, so I figured I should get a start on that. Fourth of July I told a friend of mine…

Summer 2025
Hey! Long time no blog. I meant to make a post all summer and then just didn’t get to it. Keep reading to see what happened this summer! Busy, busy, busy I spent most of my time working and taking online summer classes. I took a 3-week class and then a 7-week class. The 3-week class was brutal, and I don’t think I would do it again. But I’m happy to reduce the number of credits I have to take during the semesters. When I wasn’t busy with that, you could find me at physical therapy. The real ones know that I sprained both my ankles in the spring and…

Freshman Year Recap
Well, here we are: I actually finished my freshman year of college! This is going to be a longer blog post, but a good one. I guess the best place to start would be move in. Because I’m in the Honors College, I was a part of an early move in program, which really helped me acclimate and reduce my anxiety. My whole family drove up and we spent several hours moving in all my stuff. We ended up needing an unanticipated second car, and even had to buy more storage containers at Target once we got to Fredericksburg. I’ve never been accused of being a light packer…. It was…
